Madison's summer

Just wanted to give you an update on what Madison's been doing this summer!

She is being 'discovered' by families in the neighborhood. There are 2 families that have kept her busy babysitting. Dang! That girl makes almost $9 per hour! And for ONE child.... maybe I should re-think my career...

Madison went to the Hill Country Choral Camp last week for 4 days. She stayed in the dorms at Texas State University in San Marcos. I'm afraid we 'misinterpreted' what the camp was like... we were thinking "church camp" or "scout camp" or something with days filled of singing & fun. Well... turns out this is a 'prepatory camp' for the music all choirs will be singing for State competitions. Madison said they sang & sang & sang from 8am - 8pm. Good thing she likes to sing!!

Madison's best friend is out-of-town for the rest of the summer. She left July 5th so Madison has been 'hanging around' the house alot when she's not babysitting. She's gradually calling some other friends so at least she's not completely bored!

My Job

Well, I've had a week to get used to the idea.
I'll be moving to another department in 2 weeks.

The County Clerk & my supervisor decided it would be a good idea to move me over to the Real Estate Recording Dept. and give a new girl my position - this girl applied to be in the Recording Dept. but she's got more experience with Vitals.
Hmpf.

It's not a promotion or a de-motion, simply a lateral move & I'll learn a new recording laws for the state / county. It's a much more administrative position than what I do now. I simply wish there were windows in that area. Now THAT would be an improvement.

Supper at the Oasis

While we had family in town for Jared's graduation we took a group out to the Oasis for an Austin sunset experience....
Unfortunately the sunset wasn't so spectacular that night, so we had to create our own photogenic moments.... see below....

Poor Grandpa.... I bet Gr'pa will know better than to sit next to Dillon next time. :)

Graduation Day for Jared

The BIG day begins with a traditional picture in the gown.

Jared & Kelly.... aww.... :)
The graduation ceremony was in Austin at the Frank Erwin Center.

There were almost 800 kids graduating, so here is the auditorium set-up.
The auditorium is really large & we had to walk a long ways to get to it, so
Gr'ma & Gr'pa Cole decided to stay near the top entrance.
Get out your magnifying glass & maybe you can find them on the other side!

We had to really look hard for Jared when he came in. He's in the center of this pic.
Again, really hard to see, but he's just stepping down the steps
after getting his diploma. Yay!
We are so proud!!

Proud Grandparents!

This picture makes me laugh because Dillon was so happy for Jared but in this picture he wants to rip the tassle off Jared's cap because it kept swinging & hitting Dillon in the face. You can see Dillon gritting his teeth while Jared is oblivious to it all. :)
